Winter’s coming

There’s a chill in the air

The days are growing short and dark

There’s a golden carpet everywhere

Autumn leaves have fallen

The trees are bare

The train is approaching the station

Your hair is white like snow,

Your hands are shaking

Your steps are slow

I can see you hesitating

Deep in your heart you know

It’s nearly time to go

Can’t change the seasons

Home is calling

From the blossoms of Spring to the sun- filled days of Summer

To the golden leaves of Autumn

To the Winter snow

You blink an eye

One day you’re born another you die

That’s life

Couldn’t it be boring if the seasons didn’t change ?

If things always stayed the same

Soon you’ll be going on a journey

Travelling light,

With a suitcase full of wisdom, of memories, of lessons learned, of love well earned ,

Flashing before your eyes

Together at the table

Let’s say Grace tonight

Thanks to God for all the blessings shared in this life

It’s been amazing

You’re one of a kind

Let’s have some bread and wine

Incase it’s the last time

We dine
