Rock band BI-2 was founded in Belarus city of Bobrujsk by Aleksandr Uman (Shura
BI-2) and Igor Bortnik (Lyova BI-2). Though the band had been created in 1988,
it gained its first real success in 1999 with the help of their new producer
Alexander Ponomaryov. In 2000, songs «Варвара» ("Varvara") and «Серебро»
("Silver") from the album entitled BI-2 became hits nationwide but the track
«Полковнику никто не пишет» ("No One Writes to the Colonel") was the biggest
