Zouhair Bahaoui was born on November 22, 1995 in the northern Moroccan city of
Tétouan. Influenced by pop, raï and "urban" cultures, he first expressed himself
musically through hip-hop, with a rap group called Jil Jdid (also the title of a
song by Moroccan band H-Kayne). However, Bahaoui reverses these early aesthetic
choices for a more pop voice tinged with the influences of Stevie Wonder,
Beyoncé or Hussein El Jasmi. A first track appeared in 2016, "Bghit W Ga3ma
