Trained in Barcelona and Karlsruhe, Germany, Spanish countertenor Xavier Sabata,
born in Avia on August 28, 1976, was spotted by William Christie, who enrolled
him in his Jardin des Voix in 2005 and offered him his first roles on the great
opera stages. With the English conductor and others such as René Jacobs and
Riccardo Minasi, Xavier Sabata went on to a series of training courses and
productions, both Baroque and contemporary. After the title role in Handel's
Rinaldo at the Opéra de Fribourg, he recorded his first full-length recital.
