David Eugene Edwards, the mysterious leader of 16 Horsepower, formed the
Wovenhand project in 2001 during a break from the band. After a few live
performances, David Eugene Edwards released the album Woven Hand in 2002. Blush
Music in 2003 features a majority of tracks from the first album, reworked to
serve as music for an avant-garde dance company. Wovenhands continued in their
dark country alternative vein with Consider the Birds in 2004. Following the
break-up of 16 Horsepower in 2005, Wovenhand released Mosaic in 2006.
