Championing the dark folk legacy and Nordic legends of his native Norway,
Bergen-born multi-instrumentalist Einar "Kvitrafn" Selvik (November 18th, 1979,)
formed the Wardruna project in 2003. Taking its namesake from proto-Norse runic
symbols, the group – fleshed out by Lindy Fay Hella (vocals, guitar) and Gaahl
(vocals) – soon began developing their frosted acoustic, neo-pagan sound,
incorporating an array of traditional percussion and wind instruments including
