Vitalic is the stage name of the French DJ and producer Pascal Arbez-Nicolas. He was born in Dijon in 1976 and began releasing singles when he was in his early 20s but unfortunately his success was limited and only recognised by a select group of people within the hardcore electronic club scene. After pitching his music to the German electronic music label International Deejay Gigolo Records, Arbez-Nicolas impressed the label's founder Helmut Geier (better known as DJ Hell) and a deal was struck to release Arbez-Nicolas' 'Poney EP' in 2001.
