Well-versed in several music genres such as jazz, rock, and bossa nova, Brazilian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vinicius Cantuaria was born on April 29, 1951, in the city of Manaus. He spent most of his childhood in Rio de Janeiro and was a member of the rock groups O Terço and Banda Atômica before rising to fame with the hit single "Lua e Estrela," included in Caetano Veloso's 1981 album Outras Palavras.
