Indonesian pop singer and songwriter Vina Panduwinata was born in Bogor, West
Java on August 6, 1959. The eighth of ten children, her father was a diplomat
who was stationed in India but relocated with his family to West Germany in
1975. While living there, Panduwinata released her debut single, “Java”, in
1978. She returned to Indonesia in 1979 and released her first Indonesian album,
Citra Biru, in September 1981. Her second album, Citra Pesona, was issued in
