Tommy McClennan

Blues
One of the great Delta bluesmen, Tommy McClennan represents - with his percussive guitar playing, vehement vocals and imaginative compositions - the transition between the pioneers of Delta blues (Charlie Patton) and the transformation of this style into orchestral electric blues in Chicago. He recorded some forty outstanding tracks between 1939 and 1942, many of which became blues standards ("Bottle Up And Go", "New Shake'm On Down", "Whiskey Headed Woman"). He left his mark on many artists, from John Lee Hooker
