Thomas Hampson
Born in 1955, a pupil of Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, American Thomas Hampson made his
debut at the Düsseldorf Opera (Germany) in 1980, before appearing at the
Metropolitan Opera in New York and then on the world's greatest stages. The
athletically built baritone made his name in 1987 with La Traviata, followed by
other Verdi operas such as Don Carlos in 2005. Other roles made his name, from
Mozart(Don Giovanni) to Rossini(Guillaume Tell) and Wagner (Parsifal), as well
