The Only Ones
Formed in 1976, British band The Only Ones have been associated with the punk
wave. Yet the quartet, led by the whimsical singer Peter Perrett, also developed
music akin to psychedelic rock and pop. The Only Ones recorded one of the
decade's most memorable songs ("Another Girl, Another Planet"), but, despite
three critically acclaimed albums, broke up in 1982. The band reformed in 2007
for a European tour.
