Hailing from the German region of Bavaria, The Notwist brings together Markus
and Micha Acher, Martin Messerschmidt and Martin Gretschmann. After
metal-oriented beginnings, as evidenced by the albums Nook (1992) and 12 (1995),
the band moved towards more pop and accessible sounds, of which Neon Golden
(2001) is a successful example. 2008 saw the release of The Devil, You + Me. It
took six years for The Notwist to return with an increasingly contemplative rock
