Taking their name from a nickname for the melodica, The Hooters first got together in 1980 and became one of America's biggest bands through that decade - Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman first met in 1971 at the University of Pennsylvania and played together in Philadelphian band Baby Grand, which went on to make two albums.
