The electro duo Telefon Tel Aviv was a key figure in a certain facet of
electronic music. Assimilated to the "Intelligent Dance Music" movement
(commonly abbreviated to "IDM"), Telefon Tel Aviv - in three albums released
between 2001 and 2009 - enjoyed notable critical and public success. Sadly, the
band's career was cut tragically short in early 2009. The release of their last
album, Immolate Yourself, in February 2009, coincided with the sudden death of
half of the duo, Charles Cooper.
