Steve Hillage is a very special figure in the often compartmentalized world of rock music. A major player in Gong, one of progressive rock's most inventive bands, he went on to enjoy a distinguished solo career with albums such as L (1976) and Green (1978). His interest then turned to electronic music, and in 1991 he formed System 7 with his partner Miquette Giraudy. Steve Hillage is also the producer of Rachid Taha, with whom he shares a taste for boundless fusions and artistic risk-taking.
