Born Fale Djerianene Christian Marc-Alexandre in 1987 in Cocody, a suburb of Abidjan, the capital of Côte d'Ivoire, Shado Chris grew up in Ferkessédougou. Interested in music, he took up the piano at the age of 8, later discovering African and American artists such as 2Pac, Stezo, Michael Jackson, Almighty and Meiway. As a teenager, he joined a choir and then began producing music on his computer. He continued his studies, however, graduating with a degree in telecommunications engineering.
