Born to Caribbean parents in London, England, on January 22, 1965, Andrew Roachford launched his career as the frontman of Roachford, a soulful pop band whose lineup included drummer Chris Taylor, guitarist Hawi Gondwe, and bassist Derrick Taylor. The band formed in 1987 and released its self-titled debut in 1988.
