Taro Satake aka Japanese rapper and singer-songwriter Novel Core was born on 18 January 2001 in Tokyo and first fell in love with hip-hop via YouTube aged 14. In March 2016, he took part in an MC battle under the name Core-Boy and subsequently kicked his rap career into gear, performing freestyle raps around Tokyo's Shibuya Station and earning a reputation as a skilled rhyme-slinger.
