A guitarist first and foremost, in 1969 Ronson began a fruitful collaboration with David Bowie, who would make him a rock legend as the bandleader of his Spiders From Mars during the Ziggy Stardust era. Ronson arranged most of Bowie's albums and worked with him on Lou Reed's Transformer. In 1974, he released two solo albums (Slaughter On The 10th Avenue and Play Don't Worry), which met with little success, despite a few Bowie songs.
