Born in Dolbeau-Mistassini, Quebec, on February 1, 1964, Mario Pelchat is a
Canadian songwriter whose popular interpretation of French pop music has earned
multiple Félix Awards. He began performing as a child in 1973, often alongside
his older sister, Johanne. The pair remained active for six years, but Joanne
became sick as a teenager and passed away on December 18, 1979. Pelchat took a
hiatus before releasing his platinum-certified debut album as a solo artist, Je
