A Latvian soprano born in Riga on October 10, 1980, Marina Rebeka trained in Parma, where she made her stage debut in Rossini's The Barber of Seville, then at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome (2007), at the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg with Professor Grace Bumbry, and at the Rossini Academy in Pesaro with Alberto Zedda. Her professional debut in Erfurt in La Traviata (Verdi) was followed by appearances at the Rossini Festival, in Le Voyage à Reims (2007), Maometo II (2008) and Stabat Mater (2010).
