Jazz guitarist Marc Fosset was born on May 17, 1949 in Paris, France. Inspired
by seeing left-handed musician Didi Duprat and vocalist Yves Montand, Fosset
learned to play guitar left-handed. His style was also influenced by Django
Reinhardt, one of Duprat’s main influences as well. He made his stage debut at
the Trois Mailletz club in Paris alongside saxophonist Michel de Villers. Fosset
developed his own unique style and accompanied both French and American
musicians including Michel Roques, Roger Guérin, Memphis Slim, Chris Woods, Bill
