Maldita Vecindad y Los Hijos del Quinto Patio formed in Mexico City in 1985.
Originally, their lineup consisted of Rolando “Roco” Ortega (vocals), Adrian
“Lobito” Navarro Maycote (percussion), Aldo Acuña (bass), José Luis “Pacho”
Paredes (drums), and Arturo “Tiki” Reyes Hagen (guitar). They made their debut
in 1988 with a self-titled LP that garnered praise for its eclectic combination
of rock, ska, and reggae with traditional Mexican genres such as danzón and
