One of the most successful and honored playback singers in the history of
Bollywood, Indian vocalist Kumar Sanu was born Kedarnath Bhattacharya on October
20, 1957 in Calcutta. The son of a songwriter and singer, he began his film
singing career in the mid-1980s. In a few years he had been introduced to some
of the biggest names in the business and in 1990 he was tapped by the
influential duo Nadeem-Shravan to sing the majority of the songs for the film
