Kevin Coyne

Rock music
Pop rock
After graduating from the Beaux-Arts in the mid-60s, Kevin Coyne worked as a therapist in a psychiatric asylum, then as an educator for maladjusted children. Imbued with the blues and endowed with a powerful voice, he sang for the patients. Caught up in the game, he formed a band, Siren. In 1971, he opted for a solo career. His unvarnished songs, painful odes to the disenfranchised, have won him a loyal following to this day. Since the 1980s, Coyne has lived with his family in Germany, where he divides his time between music, writing and painting.
