Kanon Wakeshima (born June 28, 1988) is a Japanese singer-songwriter, cellist,
and illustrator, recognized as the first J-pop cello vocalist. Encouraged by her
parents, she began playing the cello at age three and later merged her classical
roots with a passion for songwriting and singing. After participating in Sony
Music auditions during high school, she signed with the label and debuted in
2008 under the production of Mana (Moi dix Mois), releasing the single Still
