Canadian singer-songwriter Julie Doiron first made a name for herself with the group Eric's Trip, before going solo in 1996. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, on June 28, 1972, she learned to play the piano at the age of ten, the saxophone at twelve and the guitar at fifteen. In 1990, at the age of eighteen, while studying photography, she joined her friend Rick White's band, Eric's Trip, which produced four acclaimed albums in the alternative rock sphere until 1996.
