JR O Crom
Real name Karim Ballo, Jr. O Crom was born in Paris on January 25, 1985. Of
Malian origin, he grew up in the 3rd arrondissement and began rapping at the
dawn of the 2000s with Maître Gims, a native of his neighborhood, and Kanté.
Thanks to his husky voice and jerky flow, he joined the Sexion d'Assaut
collective in 2002, alongside Maître Gims, Lefa, Barack Adama, Maska, Doomams,
Black Mesrimes and Lio Pétrodollars. It wasn't until 2010, however, that the
band graced fans with a debut opus, L'École des Points Vitaux, followed by
