Jono McCleery, born deaf and hearing from age 5, began playing guitar as a
teenager in London’s live music scene. His career launched with Darkest Light
(2008), funded by fans like Vashti Bunyan. He later signed with Ninja Tune
Records, collaborating with Maribou State, Portico, and Maceo Plex, and toured
internationally with Bonobo and Jamie Woon. Post-pandemic, now based in
Rotterdam, he joined Warner Chappell, releasing To Keep a Memory, Here I Am and
There You Are, and Moonlit Parade. His music, streamed over 38 million times,
features in series like This Is Us.
