John Kenneth Wetton was born in Willington, UK, on June 12, 1949. His passion
for music led him to make a living from his art in the late 1960s, when he
joined professional bands such as Mogul Thrash, Family, King Crimson (with whom
he co-wrote the 1975 album Red), Roxy Music, Uriah Heep, UK, Wishbone Ash and
Asia. It was with this last group that he enjoyed the biggest sales of his
career, in 1982, thanks to their first album of the same name. Accustomed to
