A survivor of the New Jack wave of the '90s, Joe is one of the leading figures
of R&B in the United States. A gospel singer with a warm voice that lends itself
well to slow tempos, Joe is a serious contender for R. Kelly. His albums My Name
Is Joe in 2000 and Ain't Nothin' Like Me in 2007 are models of the genre, and
deserved successes. Joe begins his new recording contract in 2008 with Joe
Thomas, New Man, while his former label releases Greatest Hits the same year.
