Joan Sebastian is the alias of Mexican singer-songwriter and actor José Manuel
Figueroa Figueroa (born on April 8th, 1951), whose mixture of Latin pop and
ranchera music propelled him into stardom in both his home country and the US.
Throughout his decades-long career, Sebastian penned more than 1,000 songs and
became one of the most awarded artists in Mexican history. After dropping out of
seminary school, he managed to get his music career started by releasing a
