Iconic leader of the group Téléphone for ten years, singer, guitarist and
songwriter Jean-Louis Aubert has made a successful solo transition from rock to
chanson. Born in Nantua (Ain) on April 12, 1955, he grew up in Paris, where he
met guitarist Louis Bertignac in high school. A few years later, Aubert and
Bertignac formed the group Téléphone, whose success spread beyond rock'n'roll
with five albums, until they split up two years after Un Autre Monde (1984). It
was with the group's drummer, Richard Kolinka, that Jean-Louis Aubert launched
his career with the album Plâtre et Cime...
