When Middlesbrough, UK native James Arthur (born March 2, 1988) auditioned for the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012, the then 24-year-old performed a heartfelt acoustic version of Tulisa's song "Young," and soon he was on his way to the final stages of the TV talent show.
