Singer-songwriter, rapper, producer, and fashion designer Jackson Wang (王嘉爾) was born on March 28, 1994, in Hong Kong. The son of professional fencer Wang Ruiji, he enjoyed his fair share of success as part of the Hong Kong national fencing team before being scouted by the South Korean talent agency JYP Entertainment in 2010. In the run-up to the 2012 London Olympics, he was offered a scholarship to practice fencing but chose to move to Seoul to pursue a music career.
