Iwa K
The Indonesian hip-hop artist Iwa Kusuma, aka Iwa K, was born in Bandung, West
Java in 1970 and has become a legend within Indonesian hip-hop.
He began his career whilst still a teenager during the late 1980s, and in 1992
he went on to become the first Indonesian rapper to release a full-length album,
titled 'Kuingin Kemball'. Around this time, he became the de facto leader of
what became known as the Cinere Posse, a group of young rappers who form the
bulk of Indonesia's hip-hop performers and who took their lead from Kusuma.
