IBE
The Finnish rapper IBE was born Ilmari Kärki in Helsinki in 1999. Since
graduating from the Helsinki Collegiate School in late 2018, Kärki has enjoyed a
meteoric rise in the world of Finnish hip-hop which began when he was featured
on Benjamin Peltonen's single 'Scratches' which reached number three in the
Finnish charts.
The artist cites the German rapper RIN and the US hip hop star Lil Uzi Vert as
being important influences in his music. In 2019 Kärki was nominated for an Emma
Gala of the Year ward after his album 'Ibelius' reached number two in the
Finnish charts.
