Hollie Cook is the daughter of Paul Cook, drummer with The Sex Pistols, and Jennie Matthias, singer with 2Tone The Belle Stars. In the end, Hollie Cook was much more sensitive to Mom's reggae than to Dad's punk rock. She was encouraged in this by Ari Up, a family friend and long-time Kingston resident. Hollie Cook even let her friend drag her into a re-formation of The Slits in 2006. After Ari Up's death, Hollie Cook embarked on what she calls tropical pop. In fact, a brilliant reggae pop album emerged from Hollie Cook in June 2011.
