Launched in the late 1990s, the career of French-Swedish Herman Düne has created
welcome bridges between Europe and the United States. Often seen as Europe's
answer to New York's anti-folk scene, the band has released a plethoric and
fragmented discography and played a leading role in the development of the folk
scene on the Old Continent. Having become a duo after Switzerland Heritage
(2001) and Not on Top (2005), Herman Düne recorded the albums Giant (2006) and
Next Year in Zion (2008) at their own pace. In 2011, their folk is tinged with a
