A self-taught pianist, Giovanni Mirabassi (born in Perugia, Italy, in 1970) cut
his teeth playing with Chet Baker and Steve Grossman - at the age of seventeen -
before trying his luck solo. Based in Paris, the transalpine musician began
recording a series of critically acclaimed albums in 1996, including the
revolutionary Avanti! released in 2000. Honored with a Victoire du jazz award in
2002, Giovanni Mirabassi has collaborated on a myriad of projects, while forging
his own path as a soloist(Cantopiano, 2006) or trio member(Terra Furiosa in
