Born in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on August 26, 1987, singer and songwriter Jeanie
Lee – known professionally as Gin Lee – was immersed in music from an early age;
her father was a professional drummer and her mother was a singer. Encouraged to
use her singing voice as a child, Lee was crowned the winner of Malaysia's
Universal Music songwriting competition at the age of 18, and after graduating
from Malaysia's International College Of Music (ICOM) in 2007 with a degree in
