Gerhard Wendland (* April 19, 1916 in Berlin; † June 21, 1996 in Munich) was a
German pop singer. After dropping out of law school, he began studying singing
at the Berlin Academy of Music. Gerhard Wendland wanted to become an opera
singer. However, the conductor and composer Franz Grothe persuades him to switch
to the up-and-coming pop music industry. In 1943, Gerhard Wendland's first
