Born in Saint-Cloud (Hauts-de-Seine, France) in 1967, Gérald Toto grew up there,
absorbed by his passion for music. His tastes ranged from Afro-Cuban to
Afro-American, Jamaican and African music, as well as jazz by artists such as
Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and Ron Carter, and folk by the likes of Simon and
Garfunkel and Neil Young. Gérald Toto has been playing bass since his mid-teens,
