Heiress to the realist singers of the early 20th century, Georgette Plana
started out as a dancer before being launched in Bourvil's show in 1942. As a
revue singer, she scored a number of hits, including "Le Bar de l'escadrille "
and "Feu follet". In the 1960s, her version of "Riquita", which reached No. 1 in
the hit parade, revived the career of the gouaille singer, who died on March 10,
2013 at the age of 95.
