Gary Louris
Gary Louris is the singer, guitarist and principal composer of The Jayhawks, the
band that powerfully regenerated American folk rock from 1985 onwards. Since the
demise of The Jayhawks, Gary Louris has been involved with Golden Smog, a side
project featuring musicians from Wilco and The Replacements. In 2008, Gary
Louris released his solo album Vagabonds in a very acoustic vein, and the same
year saw the release of Ready for the Flood, a collaboration with Mark Olson,
his former accomplice in The Jayhawks. The two men presented their compositions
live on stage in 2009.
