Elvis Martínez (January 5, 1976) is a popular Dominican singer-songwriter in the
bachata genre. Also known as “El Jefe” or “El Camarón,” he had a tough childhood
in his hometown of San Francisco de Macoris and had to work a series of odd jobs
to help his family. In the early 90s, Elvis Martínez relocated to New York,
where he learned to play the guitar under the tutelage of Aventura’s Lenny
