Zokrodépié, in the west of Côte d'Ivoire. As a child, he spent his school
vacations at the pan-African village Ki-Yi in Abidjan, alongside his uncle Boni
Gnahoré, a leading figure in Ivorian music. He rose to fame as a member of the
