Of all the heirs to the original Detroit (Michigan) sound, British DJ Dave Clarke is undoubtedly the one who has best preserved its purity. Initially influenced by hip-hop, he then moved into the acid house and rave scenes. In 1994, Dave Clarke released his first EPs, Red 1 and Red 2, followed by Red 3 in 1995.
