Leader of the group Mokaiesh, which disbanded after one album in 2008, Cyril
Mokaiesh (b. May 6, 1985) went solo again, with the EP and album Du Rouge et des
Passions (2011), influenced by Léo Ferré and Noir Désir. The singer returned in
2014 with L'Amour Qui S'Invente, a less committed theme than his previous album.
In 2015, he paid tribute to the "broken destinies" of chanson on the album
Naufragés, recorded with jazz pianist Giovanni Mirabassi. Mirabassi continues to
feature on his next album, Clôture (2017), featuring contributions from Bernard
Lavilliers and Élodie Frégé.
